Flabby Arm Exercises for Sexy Shoulders and Elegant Upper Arms
Flabby arms can’t be hidden in the summer and they look awful. You can improve your look with flabby arm exercises BUT the major improvement will come from calorie deficit.
Please read this before starting with flabby upper arm exercises: the flabby thing is fat, it is not muscles. Try to pinch your arm – the flesh between your fingers is fat and skin (skin is so thin that we can accept it is almost 0). You can’t pinch muscle and you can see how much fat you have around upper arms.
There is no single exercise that tightens fat, exercises work muscles and you can tighten only muscles.
Fat (no matter arm fat, belly fat, buttocks etc) can be burned via calorie deficit. For example if you need 1800 calories to sustain life, cut 300 calories per day and your body will get the deficit from stored resources (fat and muscles). So when you have calorie deficit you burn both fat and muscles.
But if you exercise then your body thinks "Hm, I need more energy, because there is calorie deficit, I need to supply it by burning fat or muscle. BUT wait, these hard exercises killed me and if I burn muscles for energy, it will be more difficult to do exercises next time. So I will use fat for energy. Start burning fat now!"
The role of arm exercises is to show your body that you need muscles there and body burns only fat, not fat and muscle.
The second important thing is that you can’t spot burn fat. When doing exercises for flabby arms you don’t burn fat on arms. You burn fat from overall body, not from spots. It means that when you do any exercises you burn fat from arms, belly, buttocks, thighs together – and it is gene where you store more fat or where you burn more fat – this is out of your control.
So if you want to tighten flabby arms you better do exercises that pull maximum energy and bigger muscles spend more energy. That’s why when you want to reduce body fat (on any body part) you need to do exercises for 4 major muscle groups in the body – chest, back, buttocks and thighs.
Of course you have to workout also arms (shoulders, biceps, triceps), calves and core (abs muscles and obliques).
Below is my favorite exercise to tone arms because it workouts at the same time biceps, triceps and shoulders. You can do this with mineral water bottles to try it, but better buy a set of dumbbells. But don’t buy light weights, light weight is way less effective than heavy weights.
When buying dumbbells try to do 10 reps, last couple of reps must be hard, very hard, so test the weight and chose it wisely. Don’t be ashamed to test dumbbells in the store, it is better to buy heavy than light.
In conclusion – do total body workouts if you want to tighten flabby arms, arms exercises alone will not help you to have sexy arms. Also don’t forget calorie deficit or you will not have lean arms.
